The transformation of identity into political economy although tempting has its own consequences. Zille believes that Singapore, a human construct, with no power of causation and agency, can offer lessons to another human construct of diverse actors, SA. The idea of clothing nation-states with sovereignty and power to cause motion in the quest for solutions to real life challenges seems so entrenched to allow for any honest conversations on its bankruptcy as a useful tool in the kind of battle of ideas that are needed to lift sovereign human actors up. Zille holds the view that Singapore has an admirable vision that SA ought to emulate. Does a country exist? If so, how?
